Stainless Steel Strip Coils Introduction
Stainless steel strip is a common mill form of stainless steel and is typically stocked in three types: heat-treatable, non-heat-treatable and pre-hardened. Stainless steel strip is formed to fit desired applications through processes such as slitting, edging, annealing, shearing, polishing, tempering and additional custom finishing. Most typically made into coil, stainless steel strip can also be made into shapes such as channels, frames, trim and angles.
Manufacturing stainless steel strip is a multi-step process. First, the raw materials are melted together in an electric furnace for 8 to 12 hours, until they reach their recrystallization temperature. The molten steel is then cast into semi-finished forms called blooms, billets, slabs, rods and tube rounds. The unfinished shapes then undergo a forming process such as cold rolling, in order to become stainless steel strip.
Stainless steel 316 strip is nickel-chromium austenitic steel with the addition of molybdenum, which improves the overall corrosion resistance against chloride environments. The standard high-performance SS 316 Strip offers excellent forming and welding characteristics that will be used to manufacture these alloy products into various shapes. Apart from this, UNS S31600 Stainless Steel Strips does not require post-weld annealing.
Fulilai Steel Group exports 316 stainless steel strips, ASTM A240, A240 stainless steel 316 strips,
stainless steel slit 316 strips to countries like Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Egypt, Iran, Kuwait, South Korea, Oman, Qatar, South Africa, Australia, Pakistan, Malaysia...
Hot rolled stainless steel strip is a semifinished product obtained from the hot rolling of slabs or billets and is produced for conversion by cold rolling.
Cold rolled stainless steel strip is manufactured from hot rolled, annealed and pickled strip by cold rolling on polished rolls. Depending on the thickness desired, the cold rolling requires various numbers of passes through the mill to effect the necessary reduction and to secure the desired surface characteristics and mechanical properties.
Only three rolled (unpolished) finishes (No. 1, No. 2 and bright annealed) and one polished finish (mill buffed) are commonly supplied on stainless steel strip.
Hot rolled stainless steel 316 strips are fabricated using hot rolling, annealing and descaling process which improves the ductility, strength, and toughness of the strips. The cold rolled stainless steel 316 strips are manufactured by cold rolling of billet or slabs and then quenched in water, offers excellent tensile strength. The offered SS 316 Strips are manufactured according to Indian as well as International standards.
